Our roots in Alpena, Michigan, run deep, and so does our responsibility to this community. The town is home to our cement plant and, more importantly, to the families of more than 200 men and women working at the Amrize Alpena site.
As the leader in building materials and solutions, we provide cement that is used to develop the roads we take to visit family, drive to work and enjoy Michigan's natural treasures. Our cement is also a foundational material in housing, schools and hospitals. It’s a fundamental part of society that connects us all.
Thanks to our team, Amrize Alpena has a positive impact on Michigan and our surrounding Great Lakes. I am incredibly proud of our long legacy of community commitment and our dedication to preserving our great state for future generations.

Community Engagement
Amrize Alpena is a pillar in the Alpena area as a major employer and a key driver of economic and community development. Our ongoing initiatives and partnerships showcase our values of support, growth, and unity, making a meaningful impact in the community we are proud to serve.
Amrize recently made a $25,000 donation to the ongoing revitalization of Alpena’s recreational infrastructure for the new Bay View Sports Complex. The new facility will include three new basketball courts, three tennis courts, five pickle ball courts, and a new pavilion.
“This project reflects what’s possible when committed volunteers, local government, and businesses pull together for the common good,” said Jeff Scott, plant manager at Amrize Alpena.

Economic Impact
Amrize Alpena's cement supports local and regional economic growth and is used in Michigan construction projects, including the Gordie Howe International Bridge, Comerica Park, Ford Field and Little Caesars Arena. Our cement is used in Michigan roads, schools, hospitals, dams, ports and for decorative applications like patios, floors, staircases, driveways and pool decks. Our plant also serves customers throughout the Midwest and Ontario via the Great Lakes vessels and cement terminals.
